Matokeo ya utafiti wao kuhusu utofauti wa kiwango cha maendeleo kati ya nchi hizo, yanaeleza chanzo cha umasikini na utofauti wa kiwango cha maendeleo ni kutokana na taasisi zilizopo katika nchi husika, kwa maana ya taasisi za kisiasa, kiuchumi na kijamii. Nchi zenye taasisi imara (strong institutions) zina kiwango kikubwa cha maendeleo ukilinganisha na nchi zenye taasisi dhaifu (weak institutions). Kwa miaka kadhaa sasa nimekuwa nikikutana na vijana wenzangu katika matukio mbalimbali kuzungumza kuhusu masuala ya Vijana na Uongozi. Mwaka 2018  nilialikwa na Taasisi ya AmaniFursa katika kongamano liitwalo “Career Building Festival” kwenda kuzungumza na vijana wa sekondari kuhusu “Vijana na Uongozi” Baada ya kutafakari kwa muda kuhusu nini ninapaswa kuzungumza kwao, ilinibidi nirejee uzoefu wa maisha yangu binafsi, kupitia simulizi za safari ya uongozi waliopitia viongozi mbalimbali waliofanya mambo makubwa duniani, kupitia vitabu mbalimbali vya Uongozi na hatimaye nikajikuta nimeandaa mada niliyoiita kwa jina la “Ladder of Leadership for the Next Generation Leaders” (Ngazi ya Uongozi kwa Kizazi cha Viongozi wa Kesho). Katika Mada hii niliainisha mambo 10 ambayo kijana anapaswa kuyazingatia ili aweze kufikia kiwango cha mafanikio katika uongozi au katika nyanja ambayo yeye anataka kuifanyia kazi. Siku hii huadhimishwa kila mwaka ikiwa ni kumbukumbu ya vifo vya watoto waliouawa huko sowetho, Afrika Kusini wakiwa katika maandamano ya kupinga utawala wa kibaguzi wa makaburu. Siku hii hutumika kwa kufanya tafakuri juu ya haki mbalimbali za mtoto katika masuala ya malezi, makuzi, ulinzi na usalama wa mtoto. Maamuzi ya kuadhimisha siku hii yalifanyika Novemba, 20, 1989 ambapo mkataba wa Kimataifa wa haki za watoto (Convention on the Rights of the Child) uliridhiwa  katika mkutano mkuu wa Umoja wa Mataifa na Tanzania iliridhia mkataba huu mwaka 1991. The Hurford Youth Fellowship is now accepting applications! Applications will close on July 1, 2019. B The Hurford Youth Fellowship Program seeks to build the leadership skills and harness the potential of young democracy activists from around the world. Through the Program, young activists spend three months at the World Movement’s Secretariat, during which they expand their global connections, share experiences with other activists from democracy movements around the world, and contribute to the development of the World Movement for Democracy and the World Youth Movement for Democracy. Hurford Youth Fellows engage in strategic meetings; conduct research; and organize and lead presentations, online discussions, and information-sharing sessions on key democracy issues. From 2nd to 6th July, 2018 I had a privilege of visiting the city of Shanghai and Hangzhou. While at Shanghai i visited the founding site of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and learn massive history of Chinese administrations and political endeavors.
